Inc.  Disney
just announced that it will release Monster
Inc. as a 2-disc
set DVD on September 17. Preliminary specs include both widescreen
and full frame versions of the film, a Dolby Digital EX soundtrack,
THX certification, a new Pixar-animated short Mike's New Car, Pixar
short For the Birds, outtakes, audio commentary, and
behind-the-scenes featurette. We expect a DTS
soundtrack as well,
but we have yet to confirm this. List price is $29.99, but you can pre-order your Monsters

Superbit DVDs  Columbia
TriStar is releasing two more movies to its Superbit
DVD series: Vertical
Limit and The
Big Hit. As we mentioned in e-Newsletter
issue 17, Superbit DVD is a series of DVDs released with the
highest possible picture quality and sound quality. It does so
by using a higher average bit rate for video, inclusion of a DTS
soundtrack, and using a higher bit rate (448 kbits/sec) for the Dolby
Digital soundtrack. If you're not familiar with the
