Academy
Award winner for Best Original Screenplay
Summary: This is a classic about some noble
English folks who come together for a weekend peasant shoot and when one
of them ends up dead, the police inspector must investigate and determine
who's done it. Though it's a classic murder mystery, the Academy
Award-winning original screenplay is fast-paced and deeply textured, with
rich character studies. The star-studded cast successfully brought
this complex script to life on-screen. If you're into murder
mysteries, don't miss this one. It's a modern masterpiece of this
classic genre. But you'll have to be quick on your toes as a viewer,
there's a lot of dialog to absorb and subtle clues to watch out for.
The audio is clear with superb musical score, while the image quality is
very good. Bonus materials are decent for a Collector's Edition.
Special Features: feature audio commentary with
director Robert Altman, screenwriter's commentary with Oscar winner Julian
Fellowes, deleted scenes with optional commentary, "The Making of Gosford
Park" featurette, "The Authenticity of Gosford Park"
featurette, Q&A session with
cast and filmmakers
