The
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The
first movie in the trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,
won four Academy Awards for Best Original Score, Best
Cinematography,
Best Visual Effects, and Best Makeup. The Fellowship of the
Ring will be released to DVD as early as August
6, 2002 as a 2-disc set in both full screen and widescreen versions.

Later on November
12, 2002, New Line Home Entertainment will be releasing two more
DVD versions of The Fellowship of the Ring: a 4-disc set Special
Extended Edition and a 5-disc set Collector's DVD Gift Set. Keep
reading for details on each of these versions... Widescreen
& Full Screen Standard Editions Except for the aspect ratio,
the content for the widescreen and full screen standard editions will be
exactly the same. Here are the preliminary disc

Lord of the Rings: The Sequels The sequel
entitled The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers will be released to theaters
December 18, 2002. We expect this sequel to be released to DVD
in late summer or fall of 2003. The third episode,
called The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, will be
released to theaters Christmas 2003. We expect this third
episode to be released to DVD in late summer or fall of 2004. For
